bulbasaur tattoo

If you’re a Pokémon fan, there’s no denying that Bulbasaur is one of the most iconic creatures in the franchise. With its adorable little smile and its plant bulb growing on its back, it’s no wonder that so many people choose to immortalize it in ink. As a lifelong lover of all things Pokémon, I knew that getting a Bulbasaur tattoo was something I just had to do. And now, having finally taken the plunge, I’m excited to share my experience with all of you out there who are considering doing the same.

Catching Some Ink: The Bulbasaur Tattoo Experience

Before I got my Bulbasaur tattoo, I did a lot of research online about what to expect. I perused countless artists’ Instagram accounts, read reviews of their work, and even asked a few friends with tattoos for their recommendations. Eventually, I settled on an artist whose style I really loved, and who had a lot of experience with doing Pokémon tattoos. One thing to keep in mind if you’re getting a Bulbasaur tattoo (or any tattoo, really) is that it’s important to find an artist who specializes in the type of work you want done. That way, they’ll be able to bring their own unique flair to the design and ensure that it looks exactly how you envision it.

Once I had my appointment booked, the nerves really started to set in. I’d never gotten a tattoo before and had no idea what to expect. But as soon as I arrived at the shop, my artist put me at ease. She talked me through the entire process and explained how everything would work. She even let me take a look at the stencil she had made of my Bulbasaur design before starting on it, so that I could make any last-minute tweaks.

As for the actual tattooing process, I won’t sugarcoat it: it definitely hurt. I’d heard that some people find the sensation more annoying than painful, but for me, it was definitely on the painful side. I was determined to see it through, and my artist was incredibly patient with me as I squirmed and fidgeted. She took breaks whenever I needed them, and even provided me with a stress ball to squeeze. Overall, the experience was definitely intense, but it was also incredibly gratifying to see my Bulbasaur taking shape in front of my eyes.

After about an hour, the tattoo was finally finished. I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked! The colours were bright and vibrant, and the line work was crisp and clean. My artist took the time to go over aftercare instructions with me as well so that I could make sure my new ink healed properly. In the weeks and months since getting it done, I’ve been thrilled with how it’s held up and how many compliments I’ve gotten on it!

Getting a Bulbasaur tattoo was definitely one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of my life, but it was also incredibly rewarding. If you’re thinking about getting one yourself, my advice would be to do your research, pick an artist you trust, and prepare yourself mentally for the process. And if you’re on the fence about it, I say go for it! There’s nothing quite like having a little piece of one of your favourite games with you wherever you go.
